When choosing Audio Speakers, you should be familiar with the three main types of speakers. The three main types consist of woofers, tweeters and midrange.
Woofers are the biggest speakers. They produce low frequency sounds. This means that they are responsible for the low notes such as those in bass clef.
Tweeters, as you might guess, are responsible for the highest frequencies. They are smaller than the woofer and produce the soprano type of high notes.
Mid-range speakers are just that - audio speakers that resonate the range between the lowest and highest frequencies. This range can be dramatic.
The three types of speakers are important as they all resonate on different wavelengths to produce pitches that are either high, low or somewhere in the middle range. Once you are familiar with the three types, you can opt for speaker systems that incorporate all of them. You may also choose to purchase them individually.
